このたび、2026年2月に福岡国際会議場にて「第21回世界観光ガイド連盟（WFTGA）大会」を開催できますことを、心より光栄に存じます。日本で初めての開催となる本大会は、世界約60か国から観光ガイドや業界の専門家が集い、観光ガイドの未来や国際観光の発展について議論し、知見を共有する歴史的な機会となります。
近年、訪日外国人旅行者数は過去最高を更新し続けており、日本は世界有数の観光大国へと歩みを進めております。観光庁は2030年に訪日外客数6,000万人という目標を掲げており、その達成には、通訳案内士をはじめとする観光専門人材の質的向上と育成が不可欠です。
私たち 一般社団法人 九州通訳・翻訳者・ガイド協会 は、「言葉と文化をつなぐ専門家集団として、日本の自然・歴史・文化を正しく伝え、言葉と心を結ぶ架け橋となること」を理念とし、観光を通じて相互理解と友好を深め、持続可能で豊かな地域社会の形成と国際交流の発展に寄与することを使命としております。
この理念のもと、当協会は日々研鑽を重ね、通訳・翻訳・ガイド分野における専門性を高めながら、訪日外国人旅行者の増大や観光立国の推進に積極的に応えてまいりました。本大会の開催は、まさにその理念を実践する絶好の機会であり、九州の文化・自然・歴史を世界に発信するとともに、国際交流を深化させ、次代を担う人材育成にも大きく貢献するものと確信しております。
また、本大会では、持続可能な観光、災害時の危機管理、デジタル技術を活用したガイド業務の革新など、現代的な課題を多角的に取り上げ、世界の仲間と共に未来の方向性を描いてまいります。さらに、福岡・九州の地元の皆様に支えられ、日本のおもてなしの心を世界へ届ける場ともしてまいります。
結びにあたり、これまでご支援を賜りました関係各位に厚く御礼申し上げますとともに、WFTGA2026 FUKUOKAが、次代の観光ガイド業界を切り拓く意義深い大会となりますよう、全力で準備を進めてまいります。どうぞよろしくお願い申し上げます。

It is my great honor to announce that the 21st World Federation of Tourist Guide Associations (WFTGA) Convention will be held at the Fukuoka International Congress Center in February 2026. This marks the very first time the convention will take place in Japan, bringing together tourist guides and industry professionals from approximately 60 countries worldwide. It will be a historic opportunity to discuss the future of tourist guiding and the advancement of international tourism, and to share valuable insights.
In recent years, the number of inbound visitors to Japan has continued to reach record highs, propelling Japan toward becoming one of the world’s leading tourism destinations. The Japan Tourism Agency has set a target of welcoming 60 million inbound visitors by 2030. To achieve this ambitious goal, the qualitative improvement and training of professional human resources—such as licensed tourist guides—are indispensable.
Our association, the Kyushu Association of Interpreters, Translators and Guide-Interpreters, upholds the philosophy of being “a community of professionals connecting languages and cultures, accurately conveying Japan’s nature, history, and culture, and serving as a bridge between words and hearts.” Guided by this principle, we are committed to fostering mutual understanding and friendship through tourism, contributing to the creation of sustainable and prosperous local communities, and advancing international exchange.
Based on this philosophy, we have continuously strived to enhance our expertise in the fields of interpretation, translation, and guiding, while actively responding to the rapid increase in inbound travelers and the promotion of Japan as a tourism-oriented nation. Hosting this convention is an exceptional opportunity to put our philosophy into practice, to showcase Kyushu’s culture, nature, and history to the world, to deepen international exchange, and to make a significant contribution to the development of the next generation of professionals.
Furthermore, this convention will address contemporary issues such as sustainable tourism, crisis management in times of disaster, and innovations in guiding practices through digital technologies. Together with our colleagues from around the globe, we will work to envision the future direction of our industry. At the same time, supported by the people of Fukuoka and Kyushu, this event will also serve as a stage to share the spirit of Japanese omotenashi (hospitality) with the world.
In closing, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all those who have extended their support thus far. We are committed to preparing wholeheartedly to ensure that WFTGA 2026 FUKUOKA will be a truly meaningful convention that opens new horizons for the future of the tourist guiding profession.

È per me un grande onore annunciare che il 21º Congresso della World Federation of Tourist Guide Associations (WFTGA) si terrà presso il Fukuoka International Congress Center nel febbraio 2026. Si tratta della prima edizione in Giappone di questo congresso, che riunirà guide turistiche e professionisti del settore provenienti da circa 60 Paesi del mondo. Sarà un’opportunità storica per discutere del futuro della professione di guida turistica, per promuovere lo sviluppo del turismo internazionale e per condividere conoscenze ed esperienze.
Negli ultimi anni, il numero di visitatori stranieri in Giappone ha continuato a raggiungere livelli record, avvicinando il Paese a diventare una delle principali destinazioni turistiche mondiali. L’Agenzia del Turismo del Giappone ha fissato l’obiettivo di accogliere 60 milioni di visitatori entro il 2030. Per raggiungere questo ambizioso traguardo, è indispensabile migliorare qualitativamente e formare professionisti specializzati, come le guide turistiche autorizzate.
La nostra associazione, Kyushu Association of Interpreters, Translators and Guide-Interpreters, si fonda sulla filosofia di essere “una comunità di professionisti che collega lingue e culture, trasmettendo correttamente la natura, la storia e la cultura del Giappone, e fungendo da ponte tra parole e cuori.” Guidati da questo principio, ci impegniamo a promuovere la comprensione reciproca e l’amicizia attraverso il turismo, a contribuire alla creazione di comunità locali sostenibili e prospere e a favorire lo sviluppo degli scambi internazionali.
In base a questa filosofia, abbiamo costantemente cercato di elevare la nostra competenza nei campi dell’interpretariato, della traduzione e della guida turistica, rispondendo attivamente all’aumento dei visitatori stranieri e alla promozione del Giappone come nazione orientata al turismo. L’organizzazione di questo congresso rappresenta un’occasione eccezionale per mettere in pratica la nostra missione, presentare al mondo la cultura, la natura e la storia del Kyushu, approfondire lo scambio internazionale e contribuire in modo significativo alla formazione delle nuove generazioni di professionisti.
Inoltre, durante il congresso affronteremo da diverse prospettive le sfide contemporanee, quali il turismo sostenibile, la gestione delle crisi in caso di catastrofi naturali e le innovazioni nell’attività di guida grazie alle tecnologie digitali. Insieme ai nostri colleghi provenienti da tutto il mondo, lavoreremo per tracciare la direzione futura del settore. Allo stesso tempo, sostenuti dalla comunità locale di Fukuoka e Kyushu, questo evento sarà anche l’occasione per trasmettere al mondo lo spirito dell’omotenashi giapponese.
In conclusione, desidero esprimere la mia più sincera gratitudine a tutti coloro che ci hanno sostenuto fino ad oggi. Ci impegneremo con tutte le nostre forze affinché WFTGA 2026 FUKUOKA diventi un congresso davvero significativo, capace di aprire nuove prospettive per il futuro della professione di guida turistica.

Es ist mir eine große Ehre, bekanntzugeben, dass der 21. Kongress der World Federation of Tourist Guide Associations (WFTGA) im Februar 2026 im Fukuoka International Congress Center stattfinden wird. Zum ersten Mal in Japan wird dieser Kongress Tourist Guides und Fachleute der Branche aus rund 60 Ländern der Welt zusammenbringen. Dies wird eine historische Gelegenheit sein, über die Zukunft des Berufs der Reiseleitung und die Entwicklung des internationalen Tourismus zu diskutieren sowie Wissen und Erfahrungen auszutauschen.
In den letzten Jahren hat die Zahl der nach Japan reisenden Besucher aus dem Ausland immer neue Rekorde erreicht, wodurch Japan zunehmend zu einem der führenden Tourismusländer der Welt wird. Die Japanische Tourismusagentur hat sich das Ziel gesetzt, bis 2030 sechzig Millionen Besucher zu empfangen. Um dieses ehrgeizige Ziel zu erreichen, ist die qualitative Weiterentwicklung und Ausbildung von Fachkräften, einschließlich staatlich geprüfter Fremdenführer, unerlässlich.
Unsere Vereinigung, die Kyushu Association of Interpreters, Translators and Guide-Interpreters, verfolgt die Philosophie, „eine Gemeinschaft von Fachleuten zu sein, die Sprachen und Kulturen verbindet, Japans Natur, Geschichte und Kultur korrekt vermittelt und eine Brücke zwischen Worten und Herzen bildet.“ Auf Grundlage dieses Prinzips setzen wir uns dafür ein, durch Tourismus gegenseitiges Verständnis und Freundschaft zu fördern, zur Schaffung nachhaltiger und wohlhabender lokaler Gemeinschaften beizutragen und den internationalen Austausch zu stärken.
Die Ausrichtung dieses Kongresses ist eine außergewöhnliche Gelegenheit, unsere Philosophie in die Praxis umzusetzen, die Kultur, Natur und Geschichte Kyushus der Welt vorzustellen, den internationalen Austausch zu vertiefen und einen bedeutenden Beitrag zur Ausbildung der nächsten Generation von Fachkräften zu leisten.
Darüber hinaus werden auf dem Kongress aktuelle Themen wie nachhaltiger Tourismus, Krisenmanagement in Katastrophenzeiten und Innovationen in der Reiseleitung durch digitale Technologien aus verschiedenen Perspektiven behandelt. Mit Kolleginnen und Kollegen aus aller Welt werden wir gemeinsam die zukünftige Ausrichtung der Branche gestalten. Zugleich, unterstützt von der Bevölkerung Fukuokas und Kyushus, wird diese Veranstaltung auch ein Anlass sein, den Geist der japanischen Omotenashi (Gastfreundschaft) in die Welt zu tragen.
Zum Schluss möchte ich allen, die uns bisher unterstützt haben, meinen tiefsten Dank aussprechen. Wir werden mit ganzer Kraft daran arbeiten, dass WFTGA 2026 FUKUOKA ein wirklich bedeutender Kongress wird, der neue Horizonte für die Zukunft des Berufs der Reiseleitung eröffnet.

C’est pour moi un grand honneur d’annoncer que le 21e Congrès de la World Federation of Tourist Guide Associations (WFTGA) se tiendra en février 2026 au Centre International de Congrès de Fukuoka. Pour la toute première fois au Japon, cet événement réunira des guides touristiques et des professionnels du secteur issus d’environ 60 pays. Il s’agira d’une occasion historique pour discuter de l’avenir de la profession de guide touristique, promouvoir le développement du tourisme international et partager des connaissances et des expériences.
Ces dernières années, le nombre de visiteurs étrangers au Japon n’a cessé d’atteindre des niveaux records, plaçant progressivement le pays parmi les principales destinations touristiques mondiales. L’Agence Japonaise du Tourisme a fixé l’objectif ambitieux d’accueillir 60 millions de visiteurs d’ici 2030. Pour atteindre ce but, il est indispensable d’améliorer la qualité et de renforcer la formation des professionnels spécialisés, y compris les guides touristiques certifiés.
Notre association, la Kyushu Association of Interpreters, Translators and Guide-Interpreters, s’inspire de la philosophie consistant à être « une communauté de professionnels reliant les langues et les cultures, transmettant avec exactitude la nature, l’histoire et la culture du Japon, et servant de pont entre les mots et les cœurs. » Fidèles à ce principe, nous nous engageons à promouvoir la compréhension mutuelle et l’amitié par le biais du tourisme, à contribuer à la création de communautés locales durables et prospères, et à favoriser le développement des échanges internationaux.
L’organisation de ce congrès constitue une occasion exceptionnelle de mettre en pratique cette mission, de faire découvrir au monde la culture, la nature et l’histoire du Kyushu, d’approfondir les échanges internationaux et de contribuer de manière significative à la formation des générations futures de professionnels.
De plus, ce congrès abordera, sous différents angles, des enjeux contemporains tels que le tourisme durable, la gestion des crises en cas de catastrophe, et les innovations dans l’activité des guides grâce aux technologies numériques. Ensemble, avec nos collègues du monde entier, nous tracerons la voie vers l’avenir de notre profession. Soutenu par la communauté locale de Fukuoka et du Kyushu, cet événement sera également l’occasion de partager avec le monde entier l’esprit de l’omotenashi japonais.
En conclusion, je tiens à exprimer ma plus profonde gratitude à toutes celles et ceux qui nous ont soutenus jusqu’à présent. Nous nous engageons à préparer cet événement avec la plus grande détermination afin que WFTGA 2026 FUKUOKA devienne un congrès véritablement significatif, ouvrant de nouvelles perspectives pour l’avenir de la profession de guide touristique.

En los últimos años, el número de visitantes extranjeros a Japón ha seguido alcanzando cifras récord, situando al país entre los principales destinos turísticos del mundo. La Agencia Japonesa de Turismo ha establecido el ambicioso objetivo de recibir 60 millones de visitantes para 2030. Para alcanzar esta meta, es indispensable mejorar la calidad y reforzar la formación de los profesionales especializados, incluidas las guías turísticas con licencia.
Nuestra asociación, la Kyushu Association of Interpreters, Translators and Guide-Interpreters, se guía por la filosofía de ser “una comunidad de profesionales que conecta lenguas y culturas, transmitiendo con precisión la naturaleza, la historia y la cultura de Japón, y sirviendo de puente entre palabras y corazones.” Inspirados por este principio, trabajamos para fomentar el entendimiento mutuo y la amistad a través del turismo, contribuir a la creación de comunidades locales sostenibles y prósperas, y promover el desarrollo del intercambio internacional.
